Mission

Group Therapy_edited.jpg

Reset Therapies is committed to providing a compassionate and client-centred approach to assist people with navigating their challenges and achieve, not just mental health wellness, but to reach for the best version of themselves. By creating a safe and supportive space, we seek to empower those on their therapeutic journey to explore themselves and their world more fully and to live more satisfying and meaningful lives. Together we work towards growth, healing and transformation.

Method

Therapy Closeup

By working with what is present in your life right now, as well as what emerges in the process of exploration in the therapy room, we will engage with you as a curious and interested partner to help you navigate some of the more challenging, perhaps confusing and potentially painful parts of yourself and your life. Through bringing awareness to behaviours and emotions, to automatic thinking, patterns, responses and reactions—to those sometimes hidden parts of ourselves—we believe everyone is able to achieve a greater sense of self and ultimately choice, agency and freedom in their lives. From the position of knowing ourselves more wholly in the here and now, not as we wish we were, true, sustainable transformation is then possible.

We understand that entrenched behavioural and psychological problems, including developmental interruptions and trauma, require holistic treatment solutions. These problems become entangled and embedded between our bodies and and our psyches - our conscious, subconscious and unconscious minds. Our approach is to work both somatically (where appropriate) and psychologically and psychodynamically, to assist you to map yourself and experience more integrated  therapeutic corrective experiences.

Psychotherapy Practice Philosophy

We all have the capacity to adapt, grow, heal and transform and to meet the challenges of our life. Yet sometimes the way through and forward might be just out of reach. Through dialogue and creative therapeutic engagement, we will explore what is present for you in your life right now and the parts of yourself that might be out of awareness or difficult to navigate on your own. Our life experiences are often shaped by a series of past and present experiences, influenced by creative adjustments and coping mechanisms, some of which may have once been effective and now potentially maladaptive. These are often embedded into our subconscious and unconscious programming, usually activated automatically and out of our awareness. And sometimes, it's just that we don't seem to have access to the right resources and strategies that we need to meet some of our life's challenges. Our aim is to help raise awareness and assist with developing updated ways of responding to yourself, others and the world so you can move closer to your treatment goals and to your deeper self.

Some More About Andrew

Andrew has spent close to three decades consciously observing, understanding and working with himself (as well as professionally with others) to be more integrated and in greater harmony with himself. It took a major crisis all those years ago, and then many crises since, to guide him into the kind of inner-work that he needed to heal and thrive. He has been and continues to be committed to the continual exploration, acceptance and transformation of himself to enjoy a greater experience of his life. Through examining the psychological, historical, social, philosophical, spiritual and physical aspects of his being and the world around him, Andrew more and more becomes closer to authenticity, and to the person he desires to be.
